CTE Pack

A modular project framework for concept, pack architecture, user interaction, and concept v.1

Problem & Context

I have always been excited for the moment when I would come across a design problem in the wild — outside of a classroom project. The funny part is, the problem did come to me in a classroom, but as the teacher and not the student. I noticed many of my students struggled keeping organized and rarely came to class with the bare essentials they needed to succeed. This brought the insight of realizing they needed a storage pack that would not allow them to be unorganized. It only carries the items they need without any space for clutter or garbage. It must keep all the necessities organized and also have every item visible from the outside — no hiding permitted. Only clean, preparedness.

Concept Development

Prototype and fabrication

"create objects in your mind and have robots make them"

the main body of the CTE pack is machined out of a 33"x33"x0.45" sheet of sandblast plywood. The 21st century designer has the manufacturing plant - garage sized.
